Padma Bhushan Dhoni - Interesting facts!!!



 1. ‘Captain Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni was honored with the Padma Bhushan, country's third highest civilian award, by President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday. He has already received the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour, in 2009.



2. Dhoni, dressed smartly in his Territorial Army Uniform collected the award as the crowd broke into thunderous applause. The Indian Territorial Army conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni on 1 November 2011. He is the second Indian cricketer after Kapil Dev to receive this honour.

On Tuesday, Dhoni took to Instagram and thanked the armed forces for their exemplary services to the country and said that accepting the honour in his army uniform "increased the excitement tenfold". The 36-year-old's Instagram post was an instant hit, garnering over 450,000 likes and close to 11,000 comments at the time of writing this article.
