Keeladi (also spelled Keezhadi) is an archaeological site near the village of Silaiman, on the border between Madurai and Sivagangai districts, in Tamil Nadu, India. Excavations carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department (TNAD) in Keeladi revealed a Sangam era settlement dated to the 6th century BCE by radiocarbon dating. The artifacts found at the site point to a link between the scripts of the Indus Valley Civilization and Tamil-Brahmi. Excavated site evidences the people were highly civilised and lived hygienic way of life. Site proves that majority of the people known to write(educated) Tamizh Old age writing format in pots, household items with the help of animal bones. Also site evidences the trade between other civilisation like Rome (Romapuri), Greek in west. It has strong connection with Arikamedu or Ariyankupam (Port City near Modern Pondicherry) . Goods exchange, import, exports were route with other civilisation.
