Exstream Pro Revit plugin review banner

If you have ever spent an afternoon exporting sheets one by one, renaming views by hand, or hunting down unused view templates before an issue, you know how much time Revit "housekeeping" can eat. Exstream Pro – Export & Cleanup Tool, a new add-in from TeamEx BIM Solutions on the Autodesk Design and Make Marketplace, aims to fix that by bringing a dozen of these one-at-a-time chores into a single dashboard.

Its headline promise is speed: the developer positions Exstream Pro as one of the fastest ways to batch-export CAD and PDF sheets from Revit, reporting 300 sheets (150 DWG + 150 PDF) in about six minutes. In this review we walk through what the plugin does, its standout features, who it is for, and whether it is worth trying.

What Is Exstream Pro?

Exstream Pro is a Revit add-in that groups three kinds of jobs into one window: exporting (sheets, schedules and transmittals), renaming and renumbering, and model cleanup. It supports Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027, works fully offline, and according to the developer it does not collect or send any of your model or project data.

The export side is the heart of the tool. Instead of running separate PDF, DWG, DWF and IFC exports, Exstream Pro does them all in one pass. Highlights include:

  • Filename builder – build file names from any mix of sheet parameters, with a live preview so you can see the result before exporting.
  • Merged output – optionally combine every sheet into a single PDF and/or a single DWF/DWFx, handy for review sets.
  • Export profiles – save your formats, sheet selection and naming rules as named profiles, so repeat issues take seconds.
  • Transmittal packaging – package the model together with its links, similar to an eTransmit export.
  • Sheet list and schedule export to Excel – send the sheet list, or any or all schedules, to a styled Excel workbook, either one file per schedule or one workbook with a tab for each.
  • Run folders – every export goes into its own date- and time-stamped folder, which keeps issue history tidy.

Quick tip: make a 3D view active before you include IFC in a run, because Revit's IFC export needs one.

Built for Speed: CAD and PDF Export

Speed is where Exstream Pro wants to stand out. TeamEx says the tool exported 300 sheets (150 CAD and 150 PDF) in roughly six minutes in real-world testing, which works out to more than 45 sheets a minute. In our own hands-on testing at BrowseSpot, Exstream Pro exported CAD and PDF sheets faster than the other paid Revit export plugins we tried. Because it runs every format in a single pass instead of separate export jobs, you avoid re-selecting sheets and waiting through several runs.

Your exact speed will still depend on your model size, sheet complexity and hardware. The 14-day trial is the easiest way to see it for yourself: time a real 50–100 sheet issue against the tool you use today.

Rename, Renumber and Clean Up

Universal Rename lets you run Find/Replace and Prefix/Suffix changes across family and type names, sheet names, view names or assembly names. A nice touch for messy legacy models is the name mapping table: you build an "old name → new name" list once and reuse it on future passes. Each rename batch can be undone within the session.

Renumber Sheets works either from a parameter-based rule or a simple sequence, with options for start number, increment, zero-padding and prefix/suffix, again with a live preview. Sheet Sets let you save groups of sheets and pick them in any tab that lists sheets.

On the cleanup side, you can delete view templates that are not assigned to any view or category default, delete sheets together with their title blocks, purge unused elements, swap title blocks across many sheets at once, and find and merge duplicate or near-duplicate types.

Important tip: cleanup, rename and renumber actions are applied straight away. You can undo them in the same session, but the tool does not save or sync with central for you, so always review the result and then save or sync yourself. On a workshared project, it is smart to run cleanup on a detached copy first.

  1. Install Exstream Pro from its page on the Autodesk Design and Make Marketplace (link below).
  2. Use the 14-day trial – every install comes with a full-featured free trial, so you can test it on a real project.
  3. Create an export profile with your usual formats, sheet set and filename rule, and check the live preview.
  4. Run your export or cleanup, review the output folder or model, then save or sync with central.

Pricing and Licence

After the trial, Exstream Pro uses a one-time licence key that unlocks it permanently, with no subscription or recurring fees. That is a welcome change from the subscription model many Revit tools now use. Check the marketplace listing for the current price in your region.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Very fast batch export: about 300 CAD and PDF sheets in six minutes, and the fastest paid option in our testing.
  • Exports PDF, DWG, DWF/DWFx and IFC together, with optional merged files.
  • Saved export profiles and parameter-based filenames make repeat issues fast and consistent.
  • Rename, renumber, cleanup and title block swaps all live in one dashboard.
  • Works offline and keeps model data on your own machine.
  • One-time licence and a full 14-day trial.

Cons

  • It is a new release, so there are no public user ratings yet.
  • Only supports Revit 2024 and newer.
  • Destructive actions apply immediately (undo is per session), so careful users should test on a copy first.
  • Support is by email from a small team (target reply within two business days).

Who Should Use Exstream Pro?

Exstream Pro is a strong fit for BIM coordinators, document controllers and architecture or engineering teams that issue large sheet sets often, need consistent file naming, or inherit messy models that need renaming and purging. If you only export a handful of sheets now and then, Revit's built-in export may be enough, but the free trial makes it easy to see how much time it saves on your own projects.

Final Verdict

Exstream Pro packs fast batch export, Excel schedule export, transmittals, renaming, renumbering and model cleanup into one tidy tool, and backs it with offline privacy and a one-time licence. It earns 4.5 out of 5 from us. It's well worth installing the 14-day trial on your next issue.

Note: feature details come from the developer's Autodesk Marketplace listing and official site; the 300-sheet figure is the developer's test, and the speed comparison is from BrowseSpot's own testing.
